Thank you for your interest in Columbiana!

Many factors contribute to the economic vitality of Columbiana.  Columbiana has served as the County seat since 1826 and, thanks to an amendment to the Alabama Constitution, the county seat can not be moved elsewhere except by a vote of the people.  Shelby County is the only county in Alabama with that designation.  Therefore, Columbiana is home to many government facilities to include the Shelby County Courthouse, the Shelby County Board of Education, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the Harrison Regional Library, which serves as the main office of the County Library System.  Continue reading...
