You can become a member of Columbiana Main Street by completing the application and returning it to Columbiana Main Street, 110 Mildred Street Columbiana AL 35051.

Your contribution earlier this year was instrumental in helping in our ongoing goals of positive growth and revitalization of our Main Street district.  Because of your support, we’ve been able to welcome residents and visitors to our downtown district.  We’re proud of the things that have been accomplished since our reorganization including, among other things:

Supporting the 3rd annual Forging Families 5K/10K which brings visitors to our community from around the state.  We are currently beginning work for the 4th edition in January 7, 2023,

Mainstreet conducted a month long Easter Egg hunt throughout our downtown district in April to encourage visitors to walk through our downtown area.

April afforded us the opportunity to work with Edward Jones’ Kyle Mims to assist his effort with Columbiana’s Touch-a-Truck event.

The spring also provided us with a chance to purchase the beautiful hanging baskets you see throughout the downtown district.  Main Street also invested in Gertie, a vintage Cushman that we transformed into a watering cart for all of our new plants.  Main Street partnered with the Shelby County Schools CTEC program for Gertie’s transformation.  Along with the planters placed by our local beautification board, our city has looked great all summer.

In May we collaborated with the arts and music teachers throughout Shelby County Schools in hosting our second annual Arts on Main, which brought thousands of visitors to our city from all over Shelby County.  This event generated record sales in our downtown district.  We are currently preparing for our 3rd Arts on Main on April, 29, 2023.

June brought back two fantastic traditions to Columbiana.  Music on Main began and twe ended the Month with Liberty Day festivities which included local performances, a successful year twq for the Liberty Day 5K, an amazing concert by Muscadine Bloodline and fireworks show to wrap up the weekend in grand style.  Main Street was happy to support the City of Columbiana with this event.

In July we were able to host three Movies in the Park, an event well-attended.  We look forward to continuing and growing this tradition.

The summer months (May through August) allowed us an opportunity to establish a successful farmer’s market each Saturday morning, offering locally grown, fresh produce to our citizens.  Plans are underway to continue this program next summer as well as host some “pop up” events through the fall.

Last October, Main Street hosted our first Farm to Table event at the Grande Hall featuring Chef Jon Harrison.  It was a phenomenal success and we look forward to our second Farm to Table event on October 22 of this year.

We have updated our membership levels and the benefits that come with each for the upcoming fiscal year which runs from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023.  Attached you’ll find the Membership Guide and Application.  As part of these benefits, you will be eligible to serve as a member of the board, help make decisions regarding downtown, and have your voice heard at our annual meeting.  Our annual membership meeting will be held on September 29th at the Grande Hall in Old Mill Square Park.  We hope you’ll join us to hear about the good things we have planned for the upcoming year.

We hope you’ll join us for another year of exciting things in the city we all love.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of our board members.  Our names and email addresses are included below.

Sincerely,
